o____0; Idk. It was on like.. page 6 or something when I looked yesterday. It was about dA accessing the IP address of someone they find to have commited art theft.

LOL. If they consider it serious enough, yes, they can. Or, the artists can press charges and obtain it, and then sue them IRL. :)

I hope you realize that computers have this nifty little thing called an IP address, which is basically like a serial number that is encoded into every single letter you type. Accessing your IP address is incredibly simple if you have commited a crime (for example, art theft), and this website, as well as any other that prohibits art theft, can prevent your computer from accessing and creating accounts. If that is too hard for you to understand, let me dumb it down for you: If you steal something, the good guys can make sure you never do it again, even from your computer. :) Sweetheart, don't make the mistake of thinking the computer is a veil, and that no one can ever find you, or catch you if you fuck up.

Let me clue you in on something else: IF the artist wants to press charges (which, lucky for you, artists here are fairly nice and forgiving) they can probably obtain a warrant to hack your IP address, locate the person who sold the computer that had that specific address (since it is essentially the computer's fingerprint), and find ourt who they sold it to. Its all a matter of follwing the bread crumbs, so to speak.

Just a little note.... Disney has done this NUMEROUS times. ;) so yes, it HAS been done, and it can happen.
